Kele Ki Bhujia

Ingredients

  • raw banana 2, chopped
  • oil 2 tbsp.
  • ajwain 1/2 tsp.
  • kalaunji ke daane or "magraila" 1/2 tsp.
  • rai 1/2 tsp.
  • saunf 1/2 tsp.
  • methi ke daane 1/2 tsp.
  • dry red chili 1
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp.
  • red chili powder 1/2 tsp.
  • coriander powder 1 tsp.
  • amchoor powder 1/4 tsp.
  • garam masala powder ½ tsp

Method

  • Peel and chop the raw bananas.
  • Heat mustard oil in a pan. Add rai, azwain, kalaunji, saunf and methi ke daane, let them crackle, slow down the flame and then add dry red chili and turmeric powder.
  • Immediately add the chopped banana. Don’t add salt now, otherwise it will leave it’s moisture and you will get a very mushy “bhujia”, instead of a crispy one.
  • After it’s almost cooked, sprinkle salt red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and amchoor powder. Now saute till properly cooked and adjust the seasoning.
  • Serve hot with some hot parathas or rotis or if you want to try my way, mix with hot daal and chaawal and eat, this is my way of finding "tripti" or nirvana in life.
