2 ltrs milk
100 gms rice, ½ cup of coarse rice powder
150 gms or 2 tbsps of blanched, peeled and chopped almonds ground to a paste
few strands of saffron
1/2 cup sugar
Heat 1 tbsp of ghee and dry roast the rice and keep it aside.
Now for the almond paste,cook the almonds 5-6 minutes in boiling water, drain and add to the blender and grind until a fine paste forms.
Take a heavy bottom vessel, heat milk & add cooked rice, along with the milk.
Reduce to half or till rice softens.
Add the almond paste, saffron and keep stirring the same till the mixture thickens and sugar dissolves completely.
Plate, garnish with chopped almonds along with few strands of saffron and serve.
