Mangalore Bonda

Ingredients

  • 1 cup urad daal. washed and drained
  • 6 peppercorns, crushed
  • 1/4 cup fresh coconut chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. hing
  • salt to taste
  • 12 curry leaves
  • 1/4 cup cashew nuts, roughly chopped
  • 2 cups oil for frying

Method

  • Add chopped onions, green chili and coriander.
  • Add the daal to a blender, blend into a smooth paste. Take out in a bowl.
  • Add all the other ingredients.
  • Heat oil to fry, add big tbsp full of quantities of batter and fry at low heat till golden brown.
