Namak Paare

Ingredients

  • maida or all-purpose flour 500g
  • ghee (moin) 125g
  • kalaunji daane 1 tbsp.
  • salt to taste
  • water to knead
  • oil to fry

Method

  • Put everything in a bowl except oil. Mix it with your hands. Take a pinch on a tsp. and taste to check for salt.
  • After everything is properly mixed, knead a tough dough using lukewarm water. Cover it with a wet towel and keep aside for 20 minutes.
  • Now divide the dough into four equal parts. Take one ball and roll out in ½ inch thick circles. With the help of a knife make criss-cross cuts in the discs. We are looking for diamond shape cut outs. Separate them and fry in hot oil till golden brown.
